DESCRIPTION: APW - Elgin, 11J, 16S, very heavy 14K multicolor gold drum style original HC with exquisite train scene to rear which includes an inset diamond as locomotive headlamp, front with ornate monogram initials, gold cuvette with engraved name, glazed observation cover over mvt, white enamel dial, SW-LS, gilt mvt, s#950205. Gross weight of assembled watch 82.8 dwt (128.9 g). A stunning multicolor case that ranks among the most exceptional locomotive cases we have handled.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, haze to central portion of train bridge, otherwise excellent gilt tone, fine scratch to barrel bridge between barrel arbor and edge of plate; dial with very faint perimeter hl at 3:30, micro-fine scratch within lower portion of seconds-register; excellent hands, some oxide to tip of minute and central hub of minute; case shows very little wear, two small dings to perimeter of front, small ding at upper-left perimeter of rear to area left of locomotive headlamp, excellent engraving detail though with some less than perfect retouching of the horizontal fine lines above locomotive cab creating an appearance as parallel fine scratches in this area; tight bow, crown shows light wear; good glass crystals.
